We read in the book of Acts chapter 9 about a Pharisee who was persecuting the followers of Jesus Christ. I read from verse 1. “Now Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked for letters from him to the synagogue’s at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, both men and women he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he was traveling it happened that he was approaching Damascus and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him and he fell to the ground and he heard a voice saying to him:”Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me,” and he said:”Who are you Lord?” And He said:”I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, but get up and into the city and it will be told you what you must do.” Saul was blinded, he could not see after meeting Jesus on that Damascus Road. They led him into the city and Saul was praying day and night until a Jesus sent a one of His other disciples, Ananias, to come and lay hands on him. He regained his sight he was baptized in water, and he was a baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Then Paul went out, and he who was persecuting the disciples of Jesus Christ, immediately became a witness for Jesus. He was telling everybody that Jesus Christ is Lord. What had happened to this persecutor of Jesus, Saul who became the Apostle Paul? He had met the Lord, Jesus Christ. When that light came from heaven and struck him down and he fell on the ground, what did he say? He said:”Who are you Lord?” and the Lord answered him and said:”I am Jesus. “
Most professing Christians I have not met Jesus. They just know about Him. Paul had not met Jesus until that day, but when he met Jesus he knew that he was Lord, he said:”Who are you Lord.” If you have not met Jesus then you do not know Him as Lord. Paul went on to live his life for Jesus, to follow Him, he was taught by Him and Paul went on to die for Jesus, because he had met the Lord. Have you met the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you know Him as Lord? If you do not know Him and serve Him as Lord, you will not enter His kingdom. Who is Jesus Christ to you? Is He just the Son of God? Is He just the Savior that you believe in for salvation? Or is Jesus Christ your Lord? If Jesus is our Lord, we will serve Him, and obey Him, and live for Him, we will serve Him as Lord. If we do not know Him and serve Him as Lord, then we will not enter His kingdom. Have you come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and are you serving Him?
May Jesus bless you.
