PARROTS AND PRETENDERS FALSE CHRISTIANS

Most professing Christians pretend to be what they are not. A Christian is a FOLLOWER of Jesus, a DISCIPLE, not just a believer. Jesus gives eternal life to those who become His DISCIPLES and who follow and obey Him until the end of their lives.

Very few professing Christians know Jesus and do follow Him. Most are just parrots. They learn from and speak like their church leaders, who are equally deceived. They quote Bible verses and the sayings of famous Christians, but they themselves do not know nor follow Jesus. They live in a dream world. They believe and pretend to be saved, but they live no differently from unbelievers.

You have to physically follow Jesus and live in obedience to Him, to have eternal life. God is spirit and He speaks to us in our spirit, but the unbeliever, who has not been born again does not perceive the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God. You must be born again of the Spirit of God to be in communion with God. Jesus gives the spiritual rebirth and the gift of the Holy Spirit in those who believe in Him and receive Him. How does that happen?

We see in Acts chapters 1 &2 how it happened, on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was first given to those who followed Jesus before He was crucified, resurrected and ascended to heaven. We read in Acts 2:1 “When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.”

Peter explained to the bystanders what had happened, that God had poured out the Holy Spirit on the followers of Jesus, who by His command were waiting for the Holy Spirit to be given. We read in Acts 2:37-39.

“Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?” 38Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39“For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

In the very same way Jesus, even today, baptizes those who obey and seek to follow Him, in the Holy Spirit. He gives of His Spirit in them to teach and guide them so that they can physically follow and obey Him.

You cannot follow Jesus if you are not born again and have not received the Holy Spirit. Receiving the Holy Spirit is not a guarantee of eternal life. You have to follow and obey Jesus until the end, to have eternal life. Repent and be baptized, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. To repent is not to admit you are a sinner. It means to remorsefully regret your past sins and to turn away from those sins. Be holy, sin no more. Repent from following after your own desires and lusts. Turn to Jesus and follow after Him. Die to sin so that you can live for Jesus. Be baptized in water to bury your old man of sin, under the water and come out of the water, a new creature in Christ, born again of water. Then ask Jesus for the Holy Spirit baptism so that you will be born of the Spirit of God, to be able to hear His voice in your spirit and follow Him.

Jesus will guide you in every aspect of your life, but you have to seek and follow His guidance. You have to be willing to give up everything to follow and obey Him, but first be sure that you know Him, know His voice and that you hear from Him. Do not run after other believers, saints, men of God or other people. You must follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Read and obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, His words and commandments as recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Repent and be baptized and ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit, the same as those disciples received the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and in the rest of the book of Acts. Read the book of Acts and see how the disciples were led by the Holy Spirit after the day of Pentecost. In the same way Jesus will guide and use us even today, if we follow Him. Jesus never changed. He guides His disciples through His Holy Spirit.

Jesus said: ”My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;  and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” John 10:27,28. Have you been born again of the Spirit of God and are you following Jesus every day? Are you one of His disciples, His sheep, who follow Him unto LIFE?

May Jesus bless you.
