NOTHING CAN HOLD YOU BACK

Nothing can hold you back if you really want to follow Jesus, because Jesus came to set the captives free. Many believers are in bondage of sin, they cannot stop sinning and therefore they cannot follow Jesus. They are slaves to sin. Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35“The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36“So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:34-36.

You can be free from the bondage of sin, the lusts of the flesh and of addictions, if you want to be free. Jesus can and will set you free if you ask Him, but most people enjoy the pleasures of sin and the lusts of the flesh. They do not want to stop doing those things. Even if Jesus sets them free they go back to sin. They have no desire for holiness.

Without holiness no one will see the Lord. The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Sinners and sinning Christians have no fellowship with Jesus, even if they are preachers and prophets. Jesus said: 21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Matthew 7:21-23.

No sin or any other things can hold you back if you really want to follow Jesus. You will have no excuse when you stand before Him in judgment. Jesus will set you free and give you all the power that you need, to follow Him and do what is pleasing to Him. He will not force you, but if you don’t want to follow and obey Him, and be holy, He will refuse you. He will say to you: DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.

Do you really want to follow Jesus?

May Jesus bless you.
