“Man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment.” Hebrews 9:27. We will all die and we will all face judgment. Nobody will escape. We will be judged by our DEEDS. Nobody knows when their last day will be. It is therefor wise to always be prepared and to live every day as though it is our last day.
Jesus Christ Himself is the final judge of all men. We read in 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” We also read the words of the apostle Paul in Romans 2:6-11 “God…WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11For there is no partiality with God.”
We read in Revelation 20:11-15 “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Many people will die today but very few are prepared to die and face judgment. Many choose not to believe the truth and prepare. Others are complacent and believe that they still have much time left. Many are deceived by false doctrines. They are just religious. They believe in Jesus for salvation but they do not know nor obey Him. They believe that they are saved by grace, they keep on sinning and live worldly lives but they will end up in hell if they do not repent and obey Jesus. Jesus warned that He will send many believers to hell. He said:”15“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.16“You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17“So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20“So then, you will know them by their fruits.
21“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’” Matthew 7:15-23.
All sinners and sinning believers will end up in hell. Being religious and just believing in Jesus will not save you. We have to live holy and righteously. In obedience to Jesus.
The words of Jesus are the words of eternal life. Those who disobey Jesus will perish. His words are recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Jesus said:“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27.
Are you ready to die? Are you ready to face judgment? Obey Jesus, repent and be baptized, be holy and live in obedience to the words and commandments of Jesus, and He will reveal himself to you. You will know Him and He will know you. You will have the hope of eternal life. Do not delay. Get right with Jesus and stay right with Him, until the end. We don’t know when our time will come. Always be ready.
May Jesus bless you.
