Jesus is ALIVE. His sheep HEAR His VOICE and they FOLLOW Him. Sadly very few professing Christians are His sheep because very few HEAR Him. Salvation is not just about confessing that you believe in Jesus. Most people who believe in Jesus are not His sheep, they do not know Him and they will not have eternal life.
Every truly born-again child of God has the ABILITY to HEAR His VOICE. You cannot HEAR His voice neither SEE nor enter the kingdom of God if you are not-born again. Being a Christian does not mean being of the Christian faith. It means that you are a child of God, who KNOWS His voice. Most professing Christians are spiritually blind and deaf. They were never been born again. Many of them never met Jesus and most of those who did, do not hear nor follow Him. They follow after other people, preachers, myths, theories, beliefs and false doctrines.
Those who are being led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God. Salvation comes by MEETING with Jesus after believing in Him and then FOLLOWING Him. You meet Jesus on your knees, if you kneel before Him, to humble yourself before Him and accept Him as your Lord and Master. If you truly believe that He is Lord and pray to Him, call on Him from your heart, He will save you. You will enjoy peace and joy like never before in your life. He will make you a child of God, but then you have to obey and follow Him, or else you will not stay saved. If you do not obey Jesus and do not stay with Him you will spiritually wither and die.
That is what happens to many believers, because they do not stay with Jesus. That is what Jesus illustrated with the parable of the sower. We read in Matthew 13:18“Hear then the parable of the sower. 19“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. 20“The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. 22“And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 23“And the one on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”
The believers who stay with Jesus, obey and follow Him are the ones who bear fruit and who will have eternal life. They are the ones who OBEY the gospel of Jesus Christ, who repent and are baptized, who receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit and who follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Without Jesus, without the guidance of His Spirit we cannot bear fruit, we can do nothing.
Jesus gives His Holy Spirit in those who OBEY Him, who repent and are baptized and who obey His commands, His teachings as also recorded in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Jesus said:”the Holy Spirit will teach you all things,” John 14:26 “the Spirit of Truth… He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14“He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.” John 16:13,14.
Most believers never receive the Holy Spirit and that is why they do not HEAR the VOICE of Jesus and do not FOLLOW Him. Some have received the Holy Spirit, but they do not LISTEN, to Him. They ask advice from other people, from pastors and preachers and self appointed spiritual leaders. They follow their own minds and make assumptions from Bible verses. They do not LISTEN and hear from Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
You must HEAR from Jesus, to be able to follow Him, bear fruit, be pleasing to Him and have eternal life. We can only be pleasing to Jesus and be fruitful for the kingdom of God if we HEAR from Jesus and OBEY Him, follow His guidance.
Seek Jesus, pray, meet with Him, obey His words, repent and be baptized. Ask Him and He will give His Holy Spirit in you to teach and guide you in all things. Follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, until the end and you will have eternal life.
Do not follow after other people. Do not ask their advice or guidance. Stay with Jesus seek His guidance. Trust Him and He will guide you, all the way, until the end. Jesus alone is the way, the truth and the life. Follow Him and He will give you eternal life.
