Your Ambition

If we are serious about Jesus Christ, about eternity, and salvation, and entering the kingdom of heaven, then it will be our ambition to be pleasing to Jesus in everything that we do. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:9 “Therefore we also have as our ambition to be pleasing to Him; for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body according to what he has done whether good or bad.” Why is it important that we be pleasing to Jesus? If we are not pleasing to Him we will not enter His kingdom.

What do we have to do to be pleasing to Him? Jesus said:”If you love Me, obey My commands.” He also said:”Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and you do not what I say?” If we want to be pleasing to Jesus, we have to obey His gospel, His words the word that He spoke, as also recorded in the Gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. We must repent of sin and of going after our own desires, seeking our own pleasures, and we must be baptized in water, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit to be pleasing to Jesus.

When we wake up in the morning, what is our first thought? Is it our ambition to live our day and our life for Jesus Christ, or do we have other ambitions? If we have other ambitions, then those ambitions will take us away from Jesus and we will not enter His kingdom.

Are we serious about Jesus Christ. Is it our ambition to be pleasing to Him in everything that we do?

May Jesus bless you.
