Our Weapons

Many people are buying guns and ammunition because they are worried that their guns might be taken from them. Among those people there are also Christians. A child of God does not need a gun to defend himself.
Jesus commanded us that if somebody strikes us on the one cheek we offer him the other cheek and He also warned that all those who take up the sword will die by the sword. If we are children of God we OBEY JESUS CHRIST like the first believers did. Jesus Christ Himself protects those who follow Him and who obey Him. The first believers did not buy weapons they prayed and Jesus delivered them.
We read in Acts 12 that Peter was taken captive by Herod and Herod intended killing him. Peter was locked up between two guards and that night the angel of the Lord came and he delivered him, he led him out of prison. But some believers were praying and the next thing Peter knocked on the door. We read in Acts 12:13”When he knocked at the door of the gate, a servant-girl named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing in front of the gate. 15 They said to her, “You are out of your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was so. They kept saying, “It is his angel.” 16 But Peter continued knocking; and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed. 17 But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison.”
There are even some CHURCHES who now have armed guards to protect the church goers. Do they not serve the same God or do they not pray? Has God changed? We read in 2 Corinthians 10:3 Paul writes: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, 4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” If we have come to obedience to Jesus Christ we OBEY HIM and His power works through us. We are here to declare the Kingdom of God. We are here to preach the Gospel of Peace and we don’t need to defend ourselves. We do not kill other people. We obey Jesus Christ and do His will.
A child of God does not need a gun to defend himself. The power of God in him is mighty to destroy the works of satan. How much of the power of God is working in us? Or do we trust in ourselves and in guns? Do we really believe in Jesus?
May Jesus bless you.
