Be sober

Western
society is constantly intoxicated. It has become acceptable to be addicted to
drugs, prescription drugs, tobacco, alcohol, sex, immorality, TV, video games,
shopping sprees and all kinds of vices. People are addicted to pleasures and
lusts of the flesh. An insatiable lust for pleasure and a desire to escape
reality justifies their deviation. The wicked “science” of psychology has
become the vehicle to motivate and guard the snares of Satan.

The
snares of Satan also entangle the majority of Christians. They are as bound and
intoxicated as the rest of the world. Christianity has made an alliance with
the devil. They call it pastoral psychology. Instead of rejecting sin and
casting the demons out they have turned it into an occupation, justifying sin,
immorality and bondage.

You
cannot follow Jesus and be bound by any vices or dependencies. You need a sober
mind. Either you are free, a son of God or bound, a son of the devil. If the
Son of God has set you free, you will be free indeed.

Jesus
Christ calls us to sobriety. He sets the captives free and guides them into the
freedom of the sons of God. Those who follow Jesus are sober and willfully
follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. An intoxicated mind cannot exercise
faith and will not follow Jesus. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.

The
only way to become sober is to take a stand, repent, turn away from sin, vices
and ask Jesus to set you free. Without repentance there is no redemption.

Whosoever
shall call on the Lord shall be saved and delivered from bondage unto the
freedom of the sons of God.

  1. Michael says:

I John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.Christians spend so much time wrestling with their neighbors flesh and blood, they do not focus on their own fleshly desires. The flesh resonates with the sound of the world and is enemy of what Christ desires to do within us. Even Paul lamented his own battle with this "body of corruption" in Romans 7, but he was fully engaged with the battle. When did the church check out of the battle.I see much of the reading matter that makes the Christian top 10 list and it is no wonder so many are deceived. Most of the things Christians read are to make the "body of corruption" happy and not to crucify it. Why do so few read Andrew Murray, Thomas Akempis, or the other classic Christian writers who were acquainted with this battle and the need to die to our own selfish wishes. In Christendom today, the flesh is used to sell products. Books come out to make sinners feel good about themselves when they need to repent. Writers and preachers will actually work against the Holy Spirit and do it in Jesus’ name. Our Lord weeps over those calling themselves the church, because the world sees little difference between themselves and the church today. People blaspheme because of the wickedness seen in the church.Pastors are getting divorced and not missing a beat on the preaching circuits. No accountability is in the world of the televangelist, and the devil laughs at them. Judgment should begin in the house of the Lord. God send your fire and purify the threshing floor…
