Those people were not easily accepted by the world around them. Just like any saint of God will not be accepted by people, a person who is a saint will not be accepted by this world, very few people will want to hang around with that guy because he is a man of God which was the case with Peter and the Apostles. We read in Acts 5 that Ananias and Sapphira decided to sell a peace of land and donate the proceeds to the Body of Christ but they decided beforehand to hold back some of the sum of the money that the land was sold for. Thus they lied to the Holy Spirit and when Ananias came in before Peter with this money he did not receive a: “Thank you very much my brother God bless you for this money that you gave us,” no. Peter said to him: ”Why did you lie to the Spirit of God?” and he dropped dead! Why? Because he lied to God. Just after him his wife came in and she also drop dead. Those people were their to serve God, they were serious with God, not what you are finding today. Today churches are just a social gathering. Those Christians were not popular, people were in awe of them. We read in Acts 5:13 “But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem.” Why was it? Because the power of God was in them. You cannot live with God and with sin my friend. If you live with God you live with fire and the fire of God is inside of you.
Nowadays people get together for Bible study. They don’t want to pray and get into the presence of Almighty God and let the Holy Spirit operate through His children to cleanse the church to make it suitable for the coming of Jesus Christ. The Bride must be white and only the Holy Spirit can do that cleansing. That is why God gave the gifts of the Holy Spirit is to cleanse the Body of Christ, not for entertainment.
We read in 1 Corinthians 14:24-25 “But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all; 25 the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.” If God is among you and if you are worshipping God in Spirit and in truth sinners will be convicted of sin and come to repentance. A prophet is not what you come to know nowadays, a soothsayer who will tell you God will bless you and God will give you this and God will give you this that and the other, no. A prophet of God is a person who will tell you your sins my friend. He will tell you the name of that woman you slept with last night when you were fornicating, that is a man of God.
And that is what writer of Hebrews 10: 25 wrote about it when he said: “not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Those people did not just come to church to be social, they were scared to come to church. They knew their sins would be exposed and they would come under judgment of God is they were sinful. Where the Spirit of God is there is power there is purity there is holiness and that is how the Spirit of God operates.
Those Christians did not come and have communion because it was the end of the month and it was the right thing to do. They came to have communion with God. And that’s why Paul warned he wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:27 he said if you come together to have communion, make sure you examines yourself and repent of sin first lest you be judged by God for not respecting the Body of Christ, for which many people had died and others were struck with sickness. Nowadays the whole church is under judgment because they have forsaken God and do not preach or live repentance of sin any more. The whole current church is out of the power of God. It is a fornicating Babylon church. If you want to come into the presence of God my friend then you have to be pure and holy, free from sin. We must get serious. The true Church of God is where the Body of Christ gets together and where the gifts of the Holy Spirit operates through those people who get together and they know that they have a meeting with God. It is not a twenty minute sermon just to sooth say everybody and make everybody happy, no they come together to be in the presence of God to really pray and pray through so that the Holy Spirit can work in them.
There are no more people around that want to be part of the Body of Christ. They want to play church. I am asking you my friend, do you want to play church or you want to follow Jesus Christ? If you want to follow Jesus Christ you get on your knees and you get Christ in your heart and you start following Jesus, you start living holy you get rid of your sin! Then the power of the Holy Spirit will operate through you and you will see signs and wonders, not this fake stuff that they put on in churches nowadays. The power of God is the power of God but He works through clean and holy vessels not through sinners.
