How to prove we love Jesus

God the Father demonstrated His love to us in that He gave His only begotten Son so that every one who believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. When we were still sinners Jesus died for us. God demonstrated His love. Jesus Christ demonstrated His love for us and His dedication to the Father through perfect obedience to God the Father until death.

On us as Christians as followers of Jesus Christ His disciples there is also an obligation to demonstrate our love to Him. Firstly by believing in Jesus Christ but then Jesus tells us how we must demonstrate our love. He says in John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” So if I do love Christ I must demonstrate my love to Him by obeying His commandments. He goes further in verse 21“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” If we love Jesus, He and the Father will come and live with us, will abide with us and He will disclose Himself to us.

We read in 1 John 3:22 “And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.” That is how we demonstrate our love to God, is BY DOING WHAT HE COMMANDED US. If Jesus Christ is our King and our Lord then we serve Him with all our heart. The only way that we can demonstrate our dedication to Him is through total obedience and serving Him as King and Master. He also said we must love each other and that is how the brethren will be known.
The disciples of Christ will be known is by the love that they have for each other. We must demonstrate that love in order to show that we are children of the Most High God.
