In this message I am speaking to Christians. There are so many Christians that are so concerned about what they can and what they cannot do as children of God or as Christians. The question is: DO YOU STLL LOVE THIS WORLD and HOW WELL DO WE FIT INTO THIS WORLD? We are in the world but not off the world if we have an expectation of being with Jesus Christ and fitting into heaven. We shall NOT FIT INTO THIS WORLD if we are really following Jesus Christ.
We read in James 4:4-5 "You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us?"
Jesus wants you and me all for Himself because He paid the ultimate price for us. He gave everything. He did not hold back one bit. Right down to the end He gave everything that He had to pay, to redeem us and give us an opportunity to come into His Kingdom. He gave everything, He expects everything from us, not just a part time relationship but a total surrender in OBEDIENCE to Him.
If we FIT INTO THIS WORLD we have NO EXPECTATION OF ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WITH JESUS. If we ENJOY it so much down here, what do we want to go and do in heaven then?
We read in Luke 6:23 "And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me."
A person who has CARRYING A CROSS had a one-way ticket HE WAS NOT COMING BACK. A person that was to be crucified was certain of one thing and that is death. Many Christians say they are born again they haven’t even died to sin yet, so they cannot be born again either. If you don’t die to self ad to sin you cannot be born again.
We read in Matthew 8:19-21 "Then a scribe came and said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go." 20 Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." 21 Another of the disciples said to Him, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father." But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and allow the dead to bury their own dead."
If you look at Christians today and see how comfortable they make their living you would think they are here to stay for ever. You look at the churches, the soft seats that they have in churches and all the splendor! . You would think that, that church is going to be around for eternity. None of us are going to be here for a long time. If we do well we here for 70 years and then we are out any way. But the way that people carry on it seems as though we are going to be here forever.
We read in Luke 9:61 "Another also said, "I will follow You, Lord; but first permit me to say good-bye to those at home." But Jesus said to him, "No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."
You look at Christians today they are more concerned about their sins and their friends and the things of this world than about Jesus. Jesus said if you look back at the things of the world, you have no business following Him. That is a price of following Jesus Christ.
ARE WE REJECTED BY THE WORLD? Or do we fit in so well that we are just part of the scene.
Jesus said in Luke 21:16 "But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, and you will be hated by all because of My name. "Yet not a hair of your head will perish. "By your endurance you will gain your lives."
Are you accepted or are you hated because of the Name of Jesus Christ? People have the wrong idea about Jesus Christ. There is a wrong picture of Jesus Christ even amongst Christians, they don’t know Who they believe in. They are so in love with SIN they have never got in love with Jesus Christ. JESUS CHRIST HATES SIN, HE DIED FOR SIN.
He said in John 7:7 "The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil."
If Christians love Christ they will HATE SIN. Many Christians LOVE THEIR SIN, they quote many scriptures to justify LIVING IN SIN, which proves that are SINNERS because they have never became obedient to Jesus Christ and they have NEVER DIED TO SIN, they have never been born again.
Jesus said in John 15:18-21 "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. 20 "Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his Master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My Word, they will keep yours also. 21"But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me."
If people do not hate you because of the Name of Jesus Christ then you have a problem, then He is not your Master. If I am a slave of Jesus Christ they will HATE me, I will be REJECTED, I will be RIDICULED. We need to MAKE A CHOICE. Do we want JESUS or do we want the WORLD? If we fit into this world we have no business in heaven.
Jesus said to the Pharisees John 5:44 "How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God." People want to be POPULAR. God says if we accept the glory from each other how can we be worried about what Jesus thinks about us. What counts in our lives? WHAT PEOPLE THINK OR WHAT JESUS THINKS? If we fit into this world so well that we are so popular we got no business in heaven.
We read in Luke 6:22-26 "Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. 23 "Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For in the same way their fathers used to treat the prophets. 24"But woe to you who are rich, for you are receiving your comfort in full. 25 "Woe to you who are well fed now, for you shall be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you shall mourn and weep. 26 "Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way."
How do people treat you? Are you well accepted? Does the Jesus that you portray fits snuggly into this world then you are not serving the real Jesus. The real Jesus WAS REJECTED BY THIS WORLD because HE HATED and CONDEMNED SIN
If we are comfortable here we have no business in heaven.
WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO END UP IN ETERNITY?
If you love the world now you are not going to end up with Jesus. We must make up our minds and follow Jesus Christ. If we fit in here we will not fit into heaven. Few people, very few will live in with Jesus because they had NO TIME FOR HIM during their stay on earth.
