The only way to enter God’s kingdom is through
utter righteousness. And there is only one way to become righteous and
that is God’s way. God sent His son Jesus to save this world. We read
in John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his
only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world
to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not
is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the
only begotten Son of God.” BELIEVING IN JESUS MEANS ALSO OBEYING JESUS.
God
confirmed Jesus, we read in Matthew 17:5 “, a voice out of the cloud
said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" We
read it multiple times in the Gospels that God confirmed Jesus. God
confirmed no other man. His instruction was and still remains: "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!" The only way to salvation is through obedience to Jesus Christ and His commands. There is no other way.
Jesus
said in John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and
the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
We read in Matthew 4:4. “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”
We are called to total obedience to Jesus Christ.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of MINE and acts on them,
may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 “And
the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed
against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them,
will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 “The
rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against
that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
We read in Isaiah 29:13 “Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:”
Many
modern day Christians quote scripture but their hearts are far from
God. If they were following Jesus and obeyed Him they would fear God
and live in righteousness. However they hang on
to teachings of men and ignore the words of Jesus. They are Bible
believing but have no relationship with Jesus Christ.
Righteousness comes only through obedience to Jesus. If you believe in Him you will obey Him.
You can confess Christ as much as you like with your mouth it won’t
save you. If your heart is far from Him you will never have a
relationship with Him and you will not enter the narrow gate, because
Jesus Himself is the narrow gate.
Obedience to Jesus Christ results in utter righteousness, utter righteousness.
Many Christians will be disappointed, most preachers never knew Jesus. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter (We know what the will of God was, He said LISTEN TO HIM, this is My beloved Son, LISTEN TO HIM). 22 “Many
will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your
name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many
miracles?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
People
who are LAWLESS, SINFUL and IMMORAL will not enter the kingdom of
heaven. Jesus forgives our past sin when we first come to Him and
repent of sin but after that there is no excuse for sin. If you go on sinning you will surely not enter the kingdom of heaven. YOU WILL NOT BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR PAST SINS, but right there it ends.
The
future is either RIGHTEOUSNESS or you are back into the situation where
you were in, UNDER CONDEMNATION. The GRACE OF GOD IS DEMONSTRATED
THROUGH CHRIST. HE HELPS US to be RIGHTEOUS IF WE ASK HIM. HE DOES NOT EXPECT US TO DO IT ALL ON OUR OWN, HE OFFERS TO HELP US. We read in Matthew 11:29-30 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find REST FOR YOUR SOULS. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
THE
REQUIREMENT OF GOD TO GO INTO HEAVEN IS UTTER RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jesus said
in John 15:4-6 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and
dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they
are burned.”
“apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Without obedience to Jesus and a daily dependence on Him, we cannot be
righteous. He sent His Holy Spirit to live in those who follow Him. He
said in John 16:13-15.“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
Jesus came to do the will of the Father
and He was in constant prayer and communion with the Father. Jesus said
in John 8:28 “I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these
things as the Father taught Me.” Those who follow Jesus do nothing of their own initiative but do whatever He guides them into.
John 16:13 “He will guide you into all the truth”
We need the Holy Spirit to be in a relationship with Jesus, to be
cleansed and made righteous, suitable for the Kingdom of God.
Without a relationship with Jesus He will say to us: “I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.”
We will only be ABLE to be UTTERLY RIGHTEOUS and ENTER the NARROW GATE IF we LIVE DAILY IN A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP OF OBEDIENCE TO JESUS CHRIST. He said: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.”
Jan, please be careful of legalizm and self-righteousness. Are you righteous? if so, how? ONLY throught the finished work of Christ, not throught your efforts or works….lest any man should boast. In His love
