Tribulation Will we go through it?

One of the big debates amongst Christians is about tribulation and whether we will go through tribulation.

Jesus was very clear on this we read in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

That is one of the privileges of a Christian, of a child of God is to have tribulation and to go through tribulation for the sake of Jesus Christ. Jesus also said in Matthew 13:20-21 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endure only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”

So as soon as the persecution comes the person is offended and he walks away because of the Word because of the Name of Jesus. In this world we will definitely have persecution and that is the one thing that Jesus promised us. If we don’t have persecution it could very well be a sign that we are not walking with Jesus, we are not in the race. We are not separated from the world we are not identifying with Jesus Christ.

Paul said in Acts 14:22strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” Tribulation is part of being a Christian, the extent of the tribulation differs for each person. But if we as Christians, followers of Jesus Christ are faithful we shall suffer tribulation, we shall have to make sacrifices, we shall be scorned, we shall be rejected because of the Name of Christ. There is a consolation for us in Romans 5:2-4 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” We need to go through tribulation in order that our faith can be tried, that we become firm in the Lord, that we stand in the face of tribulation. We will have small tribulations, bigger tribulations, but we will have tribulations if we are children of God, if we really follow Jesus Christ.

Paul writes in an exhortation in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” There is a purpose in tribulation for if we can suffer tribulation we can also comfort those who are in tribulation. We will all suffer tribulation if we are righteous, if we follow Jesus Christ. Not because we need to be punished but it is part of our schooling, it is part of our preparation, it is part of Jesus Christ preparing the Bride to be spotless when He presents His Bride to God the Father. Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 3:3-4 “that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this. 4 For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know.” Paul warned Christians when he brought them to the faith when he brought them to Jesus Christ he warned them. He forewarned them that they would suffer tribulations because of the Name of Jesus Christ. It is very unlike what we are told today, when preachers tell us to just say the sinners prayer, put up your hand and then you are saved and you are going to heaven. It is much more than that.

If we are righteous, if we walk the walk with Jesus Christ, if we follow Him, we shall suffer tribulation. The extent of it might be different because of different people and different times. But, that God determines Himself. We read in Matthew 24:21For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” He predicted it that at the end before His second coming there will be grate tribulation and there will be suffering for the Name’s sake of Christ. Some people will have to go through it, we don’t know who. Nobody likes tribulation, nobody likes suffering but when Jesus takes you along a path He takes you, He predestined you and takes you along that path. Either you are going to stick with Him and walk that path, or we will deny Him. That is up to us but if we drawn His power inside of us, His grace is with us. He said Lo, I am with you always, I will never leave you nor forsake you. He will be with us in our tribulations He never said He will take us out of tribulations. We read in Revelations 7:13-15 “Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.”
So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.” Tribulation is guaranteed for a child of God. You will have tribulation, to what extend we don’t know. And we see what the reward is in Revelation 7:15 He says therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple and He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.” The question we should ask ourselves as Christians is this: Do I really love Jesus as much that I want to serve Him day and night in His temple and that He will dwell amongst us who have endured until the end? Am I right now disposed in that situation, do I feel that I do love God that much that I do love Jesus that much that I want to be with Him. If I don’t love Him that much it’s most unlikely that I will endure tribulation and make it to the end. It is a decision we have to take, Jesus will help us and therefore we must develop our relationship with Him, work on our relationship so that He would strengthen us. He will be with us but it is up to us to work on our relationship. to draw closer to Christ. If we don’t do that we don’t have hope on eternal life. There’s a crown only for over comers, for those who suffer tribulation, for those who are tested and tried, for those who endure until the end. Not for those guys where the seed fell on stony places, they heard the word they accepted it with joy they said man we are saved we are on our way to heaven and then when the persecution came He says in Matthew 13:21 he had no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.” Let us not be offended of Jesus Christ, let us hang onto the hope until the end and then we shall be saved, then we shall received the prize, the glory which God has reserved for those who have overcome and that stood the test, the trials and that faced the tribulation and that stuck with Jesus Christ all the way.
