The love of God as revealed through our Lord Jesus Christ our Savior leads us to repentance. Because God hates sin and sin separated man from God. The disobedience of Adam brought sin on mankind. The obedience of Jesus Christ brought life. In order for us to be saved we must become obedient to Jesus Christ, totally obedient. He paid the price for our salvation. God the Father sent Him. He did not come from pity, He was sent by the Father. The Father sent Him as a sacrifice for our sins. There is a condition, salvation is free, but there is a condition for salvation through Jesus Christ, that condition is obedience to Jesus. We must be hundred percent obedient to Jesus, we must submit our will to Him we must submit ourselves totally to Him. He sacrificed everything to the Father. He was totally obedient and therefore He requires of us total obedience. The love of God sacrificed His son. If we love Jesus and not ourselves He promises us eternal life, provided we obey Him.
I want to talk about God’s time. We are always strap for time. Time is so important in our lives, however time is a dimension in our lives that does not exist in eternity. Once you die time is of no meaning at all anymore. To us time is important from the day we are born till the day we die. During our lifetime time dictates us, the clock rules us. But yet we often fail to see the time when God is speaking to us, when Jesus visits us. We are always in a hurry for that which we want. When we ask God for something we are always in a hurry for it to be fulfilled. But when God comes to us we ignore Him, then we are in no hurry to obey. We must make sure that when Jesus visits us, that we listen, that we are available. We read in Isaiah 66:4 “So will I choose their delusions and bring their fears on them. Because when I called no one answered when I spoke they did not hear. But they did evil before My eyes and chose that in which I do not delight.
When God called they did not answer, when He spoke to them they did not listen. How often do children not do that? Mother’s calling and she says: I’m coming! But they never come. We do the same with God, Jesus calls you, you say Lord I am coming and I never come. There is a time when He stops calling there’s a time when He stops pleading with you and me, and when that time is up the time is up. Then time is of the essence. In 2 Corinthians 6:2 it is written: “In an acceptable time I have heard you and in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the accepted time, behold now is the day of salvation. If you don’t know Jesus Christ, if you are backslidden if you are not in a relationship with Jesus Christ, now is the time. Now is the time to seek Him not tomorrow, now! If Jesus calls you, you must answer immediately. If He says to you: Son, daughter come, come pray now then you go pray now. You don’t go when you want to go because tomorrow when you call He might just not be available, because when He called we did not listen. When He spoke we ignored Him. We must do what we must do in God’s time, the time that He gives us. We shouldn’t stretch His grace. Luke 19:41-44 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you." Because Jerusalem did not realize the time of the visitation when Jesus was there, that was the time of salvation. That was a time to embrace Jesus Christ, the King, they did not recognize the time. Because of that the judgment of God came on Jerusalem and not stone was left on the other because they did not heed the time of their visitation. The city was burnt down and the gold in the temple melted into the seams of the brick of the temple. The soldiers separated the stones, they dug out the gold from between the stones from the temple and therefore not one stone was left upon the other. Jesus had prophesied it and it was fulfilled.
When Jesus visits you must listen to Him. God often sends His prophets to warn people and they don’t take heed. Make sure that you take heed when the time of your visitation comes, which is now. You have the opportunity now and I have the opportunity now to be at peace with Jesus. To chuck out all that stuff that separates us from Him. We have the opportunity now to go on our knees, spend time with Jesus get to know His voice. We have the time now, now is the good time. This is God’s time. Tomorrow might be forever too late. We mustn’t play with God, now is the time of salvation. Now is the time that Jesus is calling you and me. Don’t wait for tomorrow, there just might not be another tomorrow. When God has warned, He does what He said He would do. People say a God of grace and mercy won’t execute judgment, He will. Because when I called you wouldn’t listen when I spoke you ignored Me. When it was the time of good pleasure you refused Me. You will knock I won’t open because when I knocked you didn’t open. Open your heart now to Jesus let Him come in there repent of your sins. Stop that bad relationship, stop what is wrong in your life, just cut it out, everything. Seek Jesus with your whole heart; repent of all your sins, everything just chucks it out. Seek Jesus now just kick it out, and grab unto Jesus. Embrace Him with all your heart, now is the time to do that. Tomorrow might just be forever and ever too late. Amen!
